Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technician in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) plays a crucial role in supporting the surgical team during cardiovascular procedures. This individual is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, preparing surgical instruments, and assisting surgeons and nurses, ensuring optimal patient care and safety throughout the operation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies prior to procedures.
- Maintain a sterile surgical environment to prevent infections.
- Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and materials as needed.
- Monitor the cleanliness and availability of surgical tools and equipment.
- Help in positioning patients for surgery and performing relevant pre-operative tasks.
- Participate in post-operative cleanup and organization of the OR.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
- Experience in the cardiovascular surgical setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in understanding surgical and medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude in team-based environments.
- Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods during surgeries.
