Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) role at Decatur Memorial Hospital (DMH) in Illinois is designed for individuals dedicated to supporting surgical teams by providing critical assistance during surgical procedures. The individual will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available for surgeries, serving a diverse patient population from infants to the elderly.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room and surgical instruments.
- Maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures to ensure the safety of patients.
- Ensure the availability of surgical supplies and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
- Work closely with surgeons and other team members to facilitate efficient surgeries.
- Participate in decision-making processes and contribute to timely and effective operations.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program or currently in the last semester of such a program.
- Strong ability to maintain sterility and manage surgical instruments and supplies.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Decision-making skills that support timely actions during surgical procedures.
