**Clinical Documentation Specialist**
The Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for conducting concurrent evaluations of medical records to verify their accuracy, thoroughness, and the appropriate representation of severity of illness. This role also involves enhancing communication with healthcare providers and delivering formal training to medical personnel about maintaining documentation integrity. Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Health Information Management and have a minimum of three years of experience in acute hospital nursing or coding. A valid California Registered Nurse license is mandatory for candidates who are registered nurses.
