Job description
Job Summary
The Construction Estimator plays a critical role in analyzing project specifications and determining comprehensive estimates for construction costs. This position demands accuracy in calculations to ensure successful project bidding and cost management.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate project plans and documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ascertain project requirements.
- Conduct thorough market research to gather data on prices and availability of materials.
- Prepare and present estimates to clients and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Monitor project expenditures, budgets, and timelines to ensure compliance with estimates.
- Assist in negotiating contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a construction estimator or in a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in cost evaluation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
