Job Summary
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography scans to assist in diagnosing patients. This professional plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of imaging and patient safety, following protocols and guidelines effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct CT scans as per physician orders while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain and operate CT imaging equipment, performing regular maintenance checks.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Position patients correctly to capture accurate imaging results.
- Monitor patient vitals and symptoms during scans to ensure their well-being.
- Adhere to radiation safety principles and protocols to minimize exposure.
- Document and report findings to physicians in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Active certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques.
- Proficiency in operating CT machinery and related software.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
