Job Summary
The Laundry Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the hygiene and cleanliness of linens and personal clothing in a long-term care facility. This position involves various laundry tasks, including collection, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of laundry items.
Responsibilities
- Collect and sort linens and clothing for washing.
- Efficiently operate laundry machinery and equipment.
- Wash, dry, and fold linens and personal garments.
- Distribute clean laundry to appropriate locations.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of laundry processes.
- Follow all infection control protocols to ensure safety and hygiene.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely handle cleaning agents and follow safety guidelines.
