Job Summary
The Diagnostic Technologist is responsible for conducting various diagnostic imaging procedures in a healthcare setting. This role requires a deep understanding of imaging techniques and the ability to ensure high-quality diagnostic outcomes while maintaining patient safety and comfort. The technologist will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide essential information for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including but not limited to X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and adherence to safety protocols during imaging processes.
- Maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it is functioning optimally at all times.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to discuss findings and assist in diagnosing patient conditions.
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines and hospital policies regarding patient care and data management.
Qualifications
- Current certification and licensure relevant to diagnostic imaging technology.
- Experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of imaging procedures, techniques, and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
