Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing assistance and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role aims to enhance the quality of life for clients by promoting independence and ensuring that their personal needs are met in a respectful manner.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and social engagement.
- Encourage and facilitate community involvement and integration.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and needs.
- Develop and implement person-centered support plans in collaboration with individuals and their families.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ overall well-being.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in social services or related fields is a plus.
- Experience working in a supportive role with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and training as required.
