Job Summary
The Dispensing Pharmacist plays a critical role in the healthcare system, focusing on the accurate preparation and distribution of medications to patients. This position involves working directly with patients and healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective use of prescribed drugs.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert medication counseling to patients and healthcare providers.
- Ensure the accuracy of prescribed medications and dosages.
- Assist in managing the pharmacy operations in compliance with regulations and standards.
- Monitor patient medication therapy and make adjustments as necessary.
- Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation for all prescriptions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active pharmacist license in the state of practice.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical care and medication management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail in medication dispensing and record keeping.
