Job description
Job Summary
The EHS Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by monitoring and enforcing environmental, health, and safety standards across the organization. This position requires proactive leadership in implementing safety programs and fostering a culture of safety among employees.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to promote a safe workplace.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Lead training sessions on EHS regulations and safe work practices for all employees.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Collaborate with management to ensure EHS goals are aligned with business objectives.
- Assist in emergency response planning and drills to prepare staff for potential crises.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an EHS role, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of relevant EHS legislation and practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence and educate teams.
- Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is a plus.
