Electrical Systems Engineer IV

Job Summary

We are in search of a seasoned Electrical Systems Engineer IV to assume a pivotal role in driving intricate electrical systems engineering projects within the aerospace sector. This position will center on architecture, integration, modeling, safety, and reliability surrounding advanced aircraft braking mechanisms and corresponding electro-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop sophisticated electrical system architectures to tackle complex aerospace engineering obstacles.
  • Lead diverse engineering teams through the processes of system integration and design advancement.
  • Generate, evaluate, and authorize electrical designs, engineering analyses, and necessary technical documentation.
  • Create and oversee the requirements for systems and components through a structured approach to aerospace requirements decomposition.
  • Conduct advanced system modeling utilizing Simulink, with a focus on controls modeling and real-time simulation.
  • Execute system safety assessments, failure modes, failure analyses, and reliability engineering tasks.
  • Formulate and assess control methodologies for electro-mechanical systems, notably BLDC motor control and design.
  • Investigate and resolve intricate electrical and interdisciplinary engineering challenges.
  • Enhance engineering design standards, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks.
  • Offer technical direction during program evaluations and strategic engineering tasks.
  • Collaborate with aircraft OEM engineering teams, suppliers, and internal groups throughout the system development phases.
  • Mentor junior engineers to foster the growth of technical expertise within the engineering department.
  • Operate with high independence while delivering technical leadership on demanding engineering projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of engineering experience; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Extensive expertise in electrical systems architecture and systems engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and control principles.
  • Experience in aerospace pertaining to embedded electronic controls and/or software engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with nonlinear control systems and complex control frameworks.
  • Proven experience with ARP4754 and aerospace development processes.
  • Ability to define and decompose aerospace system and component requirements.
  • Experience with BLDC motor design, control strategies, and modeling.
  • Proficiency in Simulink modeling, control systems, and real-time simulations.
  • Background in system safety analysis, failure analysis, and reliability engineering.
  • Capacity to lead intricate technical projects and provide guidance to engineering teams.
  • Effectiveness in collaborating with aircraft OEMs, suppliers, and various engineering teams.
  • Proficient in utilizing Simulink and Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
