Job Summary
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing immediate care to patients experiencing acute health issues. This position requires a high level of clinical skill and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while delivering compassionate care to individuals in crisis.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patient conditions rapidly to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor patient vital signs and responses to treatments, adjusting plans as necessary.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment processes.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided accurately in electronic health records.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in emergency care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of one year of experience in emergency or critical care nursing is desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient care.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a dynamic and demanding environment.
