Job Summary
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing immediate and effective nursing care to patients experiencing urgent health issues. This position demands swift clinical judgment, proficient assessment skills, and exceptional communication abilities in a high-pressure environment. The RN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support the overall operations of the emergency department.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in emergency situations.
- Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care based on the severity of conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in developing care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in emergency nursing or critical care is highly regarded.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
