Job Summary
The Hemodialysis RN plays a pivotal role in providing care for patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments. This specialized nursing position involves monitoring patients’ health, ensuring the proper functioning of dialysis equipment, and supporting patients through their treatment process. The Hemodialysis RN is essential in enhancing patient outcomes and delivering quality nursing care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition during dialysis treatments.
- Administer medications and perform necessary procedures in alignment with patient care protocols.
- Maintain and troubleshoot dialysis machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, dietary considerations, and lifestyle changes related to kidney health.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in hemodialysis or a related field is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make critical decisions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
