Job Summary
The Hospice Veterinarian plays a critical role in providing compassionate end-of-life care for pets in a supportive and accommodating environment. This position allows for flexibility in scheduling, enabling veterinarians to dictate their own hours. The absence of a non-compete clause further promotes professional freedom and opportunities within the community.
Responsibilities
- Deliver palliative and hospice care to animals in their final stages of life.
- Consult with pet owners to discuss care options, helping them make informed decisions.
- Perform at-home euthanasia procedures in a humane and comforting manner.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to pet owners during challenging times.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff and the community to raise awareness about hospice care.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- State veterinary license in good standing for Maryland.
- Experience or a strong interest in hospice and palliative care for pets.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners.
- Compassionate approach to veterinary care with a focus on the well-being of pets and their families.
