Job Summary
The Sterile Pharmacist plays a vital role in the preparation and dispensation of sterile medications and compounds. This position entails ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and the highest level of quality in pharmacy practices. The Sterile Pharmacist is also responsible for the management of sterile compounding processes and will work closely with healthcare professionals to guarantee patient safety and optimal care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and compounding of sterile pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure strict adherence to compounding procedures according to established standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to assess patient medication needs.
- Maintain records and documentation related to preparation protocols and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the compounding area to maintain a sterile environment.
- Provide expert guidance on sterile drug formulations and related issues.
- Participate in quality assurance programs to uphold high standards in practice.
- Stay informed about advancements in sterile compounding techniques and regulations.
Qualifications
- PharmD degree or equivalent credentials from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid pharmacy license in the state of practice.
- Specialized training or certification in sterile compounding.
- Experience in a pharmacy setting with a focus on sterile products is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to healthcare.
