Job Summary
The Infusion Coordinator serves as a vital connection among patients, healthcare personnel, and insurance providers, playing a crucial role in overseeing benefits inquiries and securing prior authorizations. This position is also responsible for educating patients about biologic therapies and facilitating optimal reimbursement through several funding initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between patients, clinical staff, and insurance companies.
- Manage benefits investigations and the prior authorization process.
- Provide patient education regarding biologic therapies.
- Assist in maximizing reimbursement opportunities through various funding programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical practice, specialty pharmacy, or infusion center.
- Strong proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory; an associate degree or higher in health sciences is preferred.
