Job description
Job Summary
The Inpatient Infusion Pharmacist will play a critical role in the healthcare team by managing and overseeing the safe and effective use of infusion therapies for patients. This position is essential in ensuring proper medication management and optimizing therapeutic outcomes through direct patient care and collaboration with medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Verify and manage orders for intravenous medications and therapies.
- Monitor patient responses to infusion therapies and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate healthcare providers and nursing staff on best practices for infusion medication administration.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to provide input on pharmacy-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for patient medication therapies.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and institutional policies regarding infusion therapies.
Qualifications
- PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
- Current pharmacist license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting, particularly with inpatient care.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and infusion therapies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in pharmacy specialties is a plus.
