Job description
Job Summary
The Interim Sterile Processing Manager will oversee the sterilization processes within the healthcare facility, ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in surgical environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the sterile processing department to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate and supervise staff, providing training and support as needed.
- Implement and monitor policies and procedures related to sterilization and infection control.
- Ensure the maintenance and proper functioning of sterilization equipment.
- Conduct regular audits of processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Certification in sterile processing technology preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sterile processing, with supervisory experience advantageous.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage staff and collaborate with other departments.
- Detailed knowledge of sterilization methods and infection control standards.
