Job Summary
The Lab Collection Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment by ensuring the accurate collection of laboratory samples. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of testing processes and providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct timely and precise collection of specimens from patients.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols during sample collection.
- Accurately label and document samples according to established procedures.
- Interact professionally with patients to explain collection processes and address any concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the collection area.
- Assist in training new staff on sample collection techniques and protocols as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Experience in a medical or laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow precise protocols.
