Job Summary
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns before, during, and after the delivery process. This position involves a strong commitment to patient advocacy, ensuring that each mother receives personalized support throughout their childbirth experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery.
- Monitor the health and progress of both mother and infant, addressing any complications as they arise.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding childbirth and postpartum care.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal care and safety for both mother and child.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans based on patient needs.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a nurse in the relevant jurisdiction or state.
- Experience in labor and delivery nursing is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is often required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage stressful and dynamic environments.
