Job Summary
The Lead Certified Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a medical facility. This position involves overseeing a team of medical assistants while also interacting closely with patients and healthcare providers to facilitate high-quality care. The individual will implement and maintain best practices within the office to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of medical assistants in the clinic.
- Assist in the training and development of new staff members and ongoing education for existing staff.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and standards of care.
- Manage patient scheduling and ensure a welcoming environment for patients.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures as necessary.
- Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
- Gather patient histories and manage documentation effectively in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment efficiently.
