Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in the healthcare field by providing essential care for patients under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. This position entails delivering basic nursing care, assisting with various medical procedures, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. LPNs also maintain accurate patient records and support health care teams in delivering comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patient health, reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist in the coordination of patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and care plans.
- Ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols within the healthcare setting.
Qualifications
- Valid state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Completion of an accredited LPN program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting is preferred.
