Job Summary
The School Nurse plays a crucial role in evaluating and addressing the health requirements of students, while promoting a safe educational environment through effective health education and adherence to policies. This position also involves the management of confidential medical documentation, coordination of health screenings, and training staff on emergency response measures.
Responsibilities
- Assess and address student medical needs.
- Ensure the implementation of health education and policy for a safe school environment.
- Manage and maintain confidential medical records.
- Coordinate various health screenings for students.
- Provide training on emergency response protocols for staff.
Qualifications
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Basic Life Support are required.
- Previous experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
