Job Summary
The Long Haul Fiber Splicer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of long-distance communications infrastructure. This position involves working closely with technologies that enable high-speed data transmission over vast distances.
Responsibilities
- Execute the splicing of fiber optic cables for long-haul networks, maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting to diagnose issues and ensure network integrity.
- Collaborate with engineering and field teams to coordinate installation projects efficiently.
- Document all splicing activities and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all operational processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fiber optic splicing and installation.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic technology and systems.
- Familiarity with testing equipment such as OTDR, power meters, and fusion splicers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
