Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a pivotal role in delivering patient-focused care under the supervision of registered nurses and doctors. This position involves applying critical nursing skills and knowledge to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients across various healthcare settings. LPNs are essential for maintaining high standards of patient care and supporting the overall operations of the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report on changes in their condition.
- Assist in daily living activities, including hygiene and feeding, to support patients’ comfort.
- Document patient care and progress accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about healthcare needs and options.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid LPN license in the respective state.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
