Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance operations within the organization, guiding a team of roughly 12 maintenance professionals. This role emphasizes the importance of cultivating a safety-oriented culture while ensuring the plant operates effectively, equipment functions optimally, and employees are continuously developed. Additionally, the role focuses on maintaining quality, enhancing productivity, and controlling costs.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance staff while promoting accountability and a strong emphasis on safety practices.
- Create and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to boost equipment reliability, productivity, and overall performance in the plant.
- Manage various maintenance programs including preventive, predictive, and corrective measures, ensuring effective PM scheduling and work-order management.
- Enhance plant safety and adhere to environmental regulations by conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions aimed at achieving zero injuries.
- Oversee maintenance-related budgets, including labor, repair, and capital expenditures while identifying cost-saving and resource optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership teams to prioritize maintenance activities in support of daily operations.
- Lead efforts for continuous improvement that target waste reduction, safety enhancements, and increased machine efficiency.
- Build a competent maintenance team through effective performance management, ongoing coaching, training, and adherence to company policies.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance is required.
- Prior experience in supervising or developing maintenance teams within a manufacturing context is advantageous.
- Proficiency in preventive and predictive maintenance practices, work-order systems, and equipment reliability techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Work Process (RWP) is highly regarded.
- A proven track record of leading safety initiatives and fostering an injury-free work environment is essential.
- Experience in managing maintenance finances, including budgets and resource allocation, is required.
