Maintenance Manager
Tallmadge, OH

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for directing the maintenance operations, managing a team of around 12 hourly maintenance staff. This role will emphasize a robust safety-oriented culture while ensuring the plant operates efficiently, equipment functions effectively, and there is a strong focus on employee training, quality standards, productivity, and cost management.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager:

  • Guide, mentor, instruct, and enhance the skills of the maintenance team while promoting accountability and a safety-first ethos.
  • Formulate and implement the maintenance strategy to boost equipment reliability, increase uptime, enhance productivity, ensure quality, and optimize operational performance.
  • Supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, encompassing PM scheduling, work-order processes, TPM/RWP projects, and root-cause analysis for persistent equipment problems.
  • Champion plant safety, maintenance of clean workspaces, environmental compliance, risk evaluations, incident probes, and corrective measures aimed at achieving a zero-incident record.
  • Oversee maintenance labor, repair, replacement, and capital expenditure budgets while pinpointing cost-saving opportunities and enhancing resource efficacy.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, technical staff, and leadership to set maintenance priorities and support everyday manufacturing processes.
  • Lead ongoing improvement initiatives to eliminate waste, improve safety, minimize downtime, optimize machine functionality, and boost productivity.
  • Cultivate and maintain a proficient maintenance team through performance assessments, coaching, training, certification management, succession planning, and consistent application of plant policies.

Qualifications for the Maintenance Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical area is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.
  • Prior experience in supervising, leading, or developing maintenance teams within a manufacturing context is preferred.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, work-order systems, equipment reliability, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Work Process (RWP) is preferred.
  • Proven track record in leading safety initiatives and fostering a workplace free of injuries.
  • Experience managing upkeep budgets, repair expenses, capital projects, and resource distribution.
