The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for interpreting specifications, executing set-up procedures, and overseeing machinery operations to guarantee products satisfy customer specifications. This role is pivotal in upholding the company’s reputation by ensuring product quality through established inspection protocols and compliance with quality standards.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Engage in product sustainability, analyze and enhance assembly processes, and provide comprehensive manufacturing support.
  • Draft assembly readiness documentation, create manufacturing layouts, and assist in the development of prototype products.
  • Devise testing methods for assessing product capabilities and identifying issues.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality standards in design testing, implementation, and maintenance processes.
  • Participate in regular departmental meetings to provide updates on project progress.
  • Oversee the design, development, and production of research and development (R&D) prototypes.
  • Support manufacturing equipment through preventative maintenance.
  • Develop and implement project/product deliverables, including project plans, specifications, documentation, third-party resourcing, and drawings.
  • Identify sources for parts and components related to system automation, external manufacturing, and prototyping.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing processes, including tools, work instructions, and automation.
  • Assist with machining operations through programming, setup, and training of operators.

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a machining environment and manufacturing, or at least three years in a junior Mechanical Engineer role.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental engineering principles, particularly in mechanics and product manufacturing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of machine shop equipment and processes, particularly with HAAS milling and lathe machinery; experience with Swiss-type machining is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in product manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design systems, such as CAD, CAM, and CAE, for modeling and programming CNC machinery.
  • Awareness of machining equipment, manufacturing processes, and mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Skilled at analyzing mechanical challenges and generating innovative solutions using various fabrication techniques and materials, including injection molding and machined parts.
  • Involved in product development from design through implementation, tracking all process statuses and documenting progress.
  • Review mechanical designs for potential weaknesses and propose modifications to rectify them.
  • Requires both hands-on involvement and a keen attention to detail.
