Job Summary
The Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical setting. This position involves working closely with patients to assess their health needs and manage their care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The RN will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes, providing support, education, and compassionate care throughout the patient’s healthcare journey.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized care plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery.
- Record and maintain accurate patient documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical-surgical unit is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- BLS/ACLS certification is required.
