Job Summary
The Med Surg RN is a vital role focused on delivering high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients. This position entails coordinating patient care, ensuring safety and comfort, and collaborating with a healthcare team to provide comprehensive treatment plans. The Med Surg RN will also monitor patient progress and adjust care strategies as needed to promote optimal recovery.
Responsibilities
- Assess and document patient conditions and needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to design and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions and care techniques.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate patient records to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in patient rounds and team meetings to discuss patient progress.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical-surgical unit is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
