The role of the Medical Assistant 2 involves providing essential support to physicians and care teams while acting as a reliable contact for patients. This position is tailored for individuals who excel in a dynamic and collaborative outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities of Medical Assistant 2:
- Prepare and escort patients for their appointments
- Measure and document vital signs
- Collect information regarding symptoms and patient history
- Input data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Administer injections in accordance with certification
- Conduct diagnostic tests
- Gather specimens and laboratory samples
- Perform blood draws and execute phlebotomy tasks
- Sanitize and maintain medical instruments
- Set up and uphold examination rooms
- Work closely with physicians and nursing teams
Qualifications for Medical Assistant 2:
- 1–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or patient-facing setting
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Active Medical Assistant certification or registration (CMA/RMA)
- Current CPR certification
- Less than 2 years of relevant leadership experience
- Experience working in a busy, high-volume healthcare environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook
- Basic computer literacy
