Medical Assistant
Location: Clearwater, FL
Compensation: $20/HR
The Medical Assistant plays an essential role in providing quality patient care while collaborating with physicians and nurses in a dynamic, team-focused setting. This role has the opportunity to evolve into a permanent position depending on individual performance and organizational requirements.
Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant:
- Greet patients and conduct initial intake, documenting their medical history and current symptoms.
- Collect and record vital signs, such as height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Support providers during examinations and various clinical procedures.
- Deliver injections, vaccinations, and medications in accordance with certification guidelines.
- Conduct phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic diagnostic assessments.
- Ensure accurate patient records are maintained in the EMR system.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and uphold infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to guarantee top-notch patient care.
- Manage administrative tasks, including appointment scheduling, documentation, and patient correspondence.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
- 1–3 years of experience as a back-office Medical Assistant.
- Active CMA or RMA certification (or the relevant state certification/registration).
- Current CPR certification.
- Background in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to successfully pass required TB screening.
- Commitment to providing outstanding patient care and enhancing the patient experience.
Preferred Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish).
- Professional experience in phlebotomy.
- Background in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR).
- Knowledge of HEDIS and value-based care principles.
- Experience in administering vaccines and medications.
- Familiarity with CPT/ICD coding and patient quality metrics.
- ARRT Radiologic Technologist license.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
