Job Summary
The Medical Director for Hospice services is responsible for overseeing clinical operations and ensuring the highest standards of care for patients in hospice settings. This role includes providing medical guidance and leadership to the interdisciplinary team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering collaboration to enhance patient quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical oversight and direction for hospice care practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient assessments and care plans.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards in hospice operations.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Serve as a resource for clinical staff regarding medical issues and best practices.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. with active medical license.
- Experience in hospice or palliative care preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient-centered care.
Location
Varies by assignment; must be flexible to work in designated areas as needed.
Work Arrangement
On-site as required; PRN (as needed) basis.
