Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for Acute Care operating on a PRN basis plays a vital role in the healthcare team by executing laboratory tests and procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure laboratory operations align with patient care standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on patient specimens.
- Ensure accuracy and validity of results through proper testing protocols.
- Maintain and trouble-shoot laboratory equipment as necessary.
- Document and report test results to healthcare providers promptly.
- Adhere to safety and regulatory standards in all laboratory activities.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new laboratory staff when required.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
- Current certification or eligibility for certification by a recognized body.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
