Job Summary
The MedSurg RN will deliver high-quality nursing care on a MedSurg unit during evening shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role involves direct patient care, support, and advocacy for patients recovering from surgery or managing acute medical conditions. The MedSurg RN will be responsible for monitoring patient status, administering medications, and implementing treatment plans as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments to patients in accordance with physician orders.
- Continuously monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly in the medical records.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and ongoing care requirements.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Completion of a nursing degree from an accredited program.
- Previous experience in a MedSurg nursing setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes high-stress environment.
