Job Summary
The MRI Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare field, specializing in operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to create detailed images of patients’ internal structures. This position requires a combination of technical skill and patient care to ensure accurate imaging while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI machines to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Maintain MRI equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and calibrated correctly.
- Evaluate images for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to enhance diagnostic quality.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss images and contribute to patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited MRI program or related education.
- Registered MRI Technologist credentials, preferably through a recognized certifying body.
- Strong understanding of MRI safety protocols and patient care techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
