Multicraft Maintenance Technician
Location: Akron, OH
Pay Rate: $35-42/HR
The Multicraft Maintenance Technician will be instrumental in assisting with maintenance and fabrication tasks within a manufacturing setting. This role is hands-on and demands proficiency in welding, fabrication experience, and the ability to execute a variety of general maintenance functions. The right applicant will have no qualms about working with small parts and engaging in welding activities in tight or challenging locations. Your contributions will significantly impact the transition of initial designs into fully operational production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct general mechanical and industrial maintenance activities across the facility.
- Perform welding repairs and execute fabrication assignments as required.
- Weld small components and assemblies, often in restricted or confined areas.
- Ability to read and understand basic drawings, sketches, and measurements for fabrication and repair tasks.
- Install mechanical parts and manage the routing of conduit and enclosures.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot build challenges and enhance manufacturability.
- Assist in defining and documenting repeatable assembly processes.
- Support the transition from prototype development to consistent production.
- Diagnose and repair machinery and mechanical systems.
- Help with the installation, modifications, and repairs of equipment and facility machinery.
- Safely and effectively utilize a diverse range of hand and power tools.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years in industrial maintenance required; 10+ years is preferred.
- Demonstrated, hands-on welding experience is essential.
- Proficient in welding techniques, particularly MIG welding.
- Experience in metal fabrication, including fitting, cutting, grinding, and related methods.
- Strong mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilities are necessary.
- Capacity to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Competent in safely using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
