Job Summary
The Night Shift SDU (Specialized Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care during nighttime hours. This position demands a dedicated professional who is skilled in managing diverse healthcare needs, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and effective communication with interdisciplinary team members.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor patient vitals and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized patient care plans.
- Document all nursing interventions and patient responses accurately within electronic health records.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families during their stay.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized unit environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting, particularly in a specialized unit.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate within a healthcare team.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Empathy and patience when interacting with patients and their families.
