Job Summary
The Night Shift SDU Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing patient care during the evening and overnight hours in a specialized unit. This position requires a skilled nursing professional who is adept at managing patient needs in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment protocols are followed. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to offer high standards of care to those in the Short Stay Unit (SDU).
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients admitted to the SDU, focusing on their specific medical needs.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with established protocols.
- Participate in patient assessments and care planning, working alongside other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and their families about discharge instructions and follow-up care.
- Document all nursing activities and patient responses in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment is maintained at all times.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing.
- A minimum of one year of nursing experience, with a preference for experience in a similar unit.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during night shifts.
- CPR and ACLS certification are required.
