Job Summary
The University Medical Associates (UMA) is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Hospital Medicine Preoperative Clinic located in Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves providing comprehensive medical assessments and care, ensuring patients are well-prepared for surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and evaluations for preoperative patients.
- Order and interpret radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic tests as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families about preoperative procedures and preparations.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to interpret diagnostic tests.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
