Job Summary
The role of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Neonatology involves providing specialized care for neonates under the supervision of a healthcare team. This position requires advanced clinical skills and knowledge to assess and manage patients in a neonatal setting at University Medical Associates (UMA) in Charleston, SC.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and evaluations of neonates.
- Order and interpret radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to the needs of neonatal patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Experience in neonatology or related fields is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of neonatal care practices and protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and families.
