Job Summary
The Clinical Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating patient eye care by conducting eye examinations, executing preliminary diagnostic assessments, and meticulously recording outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR). This position also serves as a crucial link between patients and optometrists, overseeing patient flow and handling insurance preauthorizations efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient eye examinations and perform initial diagnostic testing.
- Document test results accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Act as a communication bridge between patients and optometrists.
- Manage patient flow effectively within the office.
- Handle insurance preauthorizations as required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in an optical or healthcare environment.
- High school diploma or GED is essential.
- Strong customer service abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Capacity to work flexible hours as necessary.
