Job Summary
The OR Surgical Technologist Intern (STI) position at Beaufort Memorial is an opportunity for individuals to gain essential hands-on experience in a hospital setting. Interns will play a key role in supporting registered nurses and surgical teams by assisting with patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in preparing for procedures by ensuring the operating room is properly equipped.
- Support registered nurses in delivering patient care in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative settings.
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.
- Participate in the handling and disposing of surgical instruments and supplies safely.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in a Surgical Technology program or equivalent education is preferred.
- A strong desire to learn and develop skills in a surgical environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
- Commitment to patient care and safety standards.
