Job Summary
The OR1RN – Evening Generalist role is designed for a registered nurse who will provide comprehensive nursing care in an operating room setting during evening shifts. This position involves working collaboratively with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a safe environment to deliver high-quality care. The nurse will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the surgical process and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready and sterile.
- Support the surgical team during procedures by providing instruments, materials, and assisting as needed.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and conditions before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charting.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and address any concerns that arise.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and hospital policies to ensure a safe surgical environment.
Qualifications
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (like ACLS) may be desired.
- Previous experience in an operating room setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
