Job Summary
The Surgery RN position focuses on providing specialized nursing care in areas including vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, and trauma surgery. This role is integral in delivering high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dedicated surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and promote a safe and efficient environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in their condition during the surgery.
- Prepare and maintain the surgical environment, ensuring all instruments are sterile and available.
- Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical operations.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, post-operative care, and recovery expectations.
- Document patient care activities and surgical outcomes accurately and timely.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives to enhance patient safety and care standards.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Experience in surgical nursing with a focus on vascular, neuro, ortho, or trauma preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques.
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to respond to critical situations efficiently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- BLS certification is mandatory, with ACLS preferred.
