Job description
The Orientation and Mobility Specialist will deliver hands-on instruction to students with visual impairments, promoting their ability to navigate safely and independently in both school settings and broader community contexts. This role entails performing assessments, establishing IEP objectives, and working alongside multidisciplinary teams to enhance educational accessibility. Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree and a valid Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) certification, or be in the process of obtaining it. Prior experience with school-aged children who have visual impairments and a solid understanding of special education protocols are mandatory.
