Job Summary
The Patient Access Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience by managing administrative tasks related to patient admissions, registrations, and referrals. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and information before accessing healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient registration and admission processes to streamline access to healthcare services.
- Assist patients with completing necessary documentation and provide guidance on insurance verification.
- Coordinate communications between patients and healthcare providers to ensure clarity and understanding of services.
- Address patient inquiries and resolve any issues pertaining to appointments, billing, or service access.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records and database entries for compliance and ease of access.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in health administration or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient access or administrative roles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management software and basic office applications.
