Job description
Job Summary
The Medical Physicist will play a crucial role in the healthcare team by utilizing their specialized knowledge in physics to ensure the safe and effective application of radiation in medical settings. They will be responsible for integrating physics principles into patient care while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality assurance procedures for diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy equipment.
- Assist in treatment planning and dosimetry calculations for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
- Provide consultation and technical support to medical staff regarding radiation safety and risk management.
- Conduct research and stay updated on the latest advancements in medical physics and technology.
- Educate and train personnel on safe practices in radiation usage.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Medical Physics or a related field.
- Certification by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent.
- Experience with radiation safety protocols and quality control procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on patient care.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities within a multidisciplinary team.
