Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician in the Med Surg Observation unit plays a vital role in supporting patient care within a medical-surgical environment. This position involves direct interaction with patients, assisting them with daily needs while ensuring their comfort and safety under the supervision of nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Providing assistance to patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Monitoring patients’ vital signs and reporting significant changes to the nursing team.
- Assisting with the transport of patients as necessary within the facility.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment in patient care areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
