Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician in the Med Surg Observation unit plays a vital role in supporting patient care within a medical-surgical environment. This position involves direct interaction with patients, assisting them with daily needs while ensuring their comfort and safety under the supervision of nursing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Providing assistance to patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
  • Monitoring patients’ vital signs and reporting significant changes to the nursing team.
  • Assisting with the transport of patients as necessary within the facility.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment in patient care areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
