The Patient Care Technician provides direct hands-on care to patients, including activities of daily living, vital signs monitoring, and assisting the nursing staff. They are also responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, documenting patient information, and responding to patient needs. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and either complete the UPMC patient care technician class or have one year of clinical nursing coursework. Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.
