Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in supporting nursing staff by delivering hands-on patient care. This involves executing essential tasks such as phlebotomy, EKG procedures, and glucose monitoring, while fostering a safe and hygienic environment. In addition to technical duties, the technician offers compassionate assistance to patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist nurses with direct patient care activities.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKG, and glucose monitoring procedures.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards within the healthcare setting.
- Provide empathetic support to patients and their loved ones.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Completion of a Patient Care Technician program combined with hospital experience or possession of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with pertinent experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification is required upon hiring.
