Job Summary
The PCU RN position encompasses the critical responsibility of providing high-quality nursing care during night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM in a Progressive Care Unit. This role plays a vital part in managing patients with complex medical needs, ensuring patient safety, and promoting optimal recovery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care in the Progressive Care Unit.
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions and vital signs regularly.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on care processes and discharge instructions.
- Document patient interactions and care delivered accurately in medical records.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in a progressive or critical care setting is valuable.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
